DeviantArt

  • Dec. 24th, 2009 at 12:56 AM
Honestly - that was the last year I paid money to get a paid DeviantArt account... All those scripts and dynamic stuff meanwhile makes the site almost unusable for me (using newest Firefox browser).
I can't sort pictures into the galleries (they seem there, but after reloading they're back again), I can't delete messages or deviations from my list (various loading error messages), everything takes ages... It workes sometimes, but way too often it doesn't.

Sorry, this is NOT how a proper (paid!) gallery should work. :(
I truely miss the old days where DA was still simple but worked...

Christmas.

hey everyone, i thought i would post my thanks to you all now that i can get onlineat my bosses. All the cats but my beloved penny and apollo got out. Penny was in my room, which is where the fire starter, so we dont hold out much hope that she made it out when mat kicked down the door, which is what flashed the fire in my room. my TV, it turns out, was more then likely the cause. Apollo MAY have gotten out, and i may call on some of you to help me mount a search for her at some point. Patch, Gemma and Kiki had to go to the vets, gemma and kiki for smoke inhalation, but patches got badly burned, and he breathed flame into his lungs, and had his eyeballs burned. However, he is doing fantastic and may come home as early as tonight. Sadly, i dont know where we are going to put him! dad has three with him, i have two in my hotel room, mat has two in his...but when i know what we need, i will let everyone know. I love you all, and i cannot wait to see all of you soon.

A Couple Things For The Holidays

  • Dec. 23rd, 2009 at 9:23 AM

 "Kitty Rat" "Ganesha"

Two holiday gifts...
The first, a small holiday gift for a grandmother who doesn't understand this curious system of tubes (a.k.a. the Internet) and thus, it's safe to hide it here as she'll never look. ;]
A pet portrait of a cat named Furby, affectionately called a kitty-rat, who's been both spayed and neutered.
If only I had a naff oval gold frame to put it in--oh, wait! I do!

The second, for someone who's now isolated from the internet in a cold and lonely land, and will not have the chance to see it online before the holidays.

This plane has wifi bitches! :D

  • Dec. 23rd, 2009 at 9:16 AM
On my flight to Florida as I type this. Airtran has extremely cheap wifi for the duration of the flight so I'm taking full advantage of it. :3

Birthday in two days, I'm hella excited about turning 21, I'm gonna get fucked UP! :D

Merry Christmas all. ^_^

Gotta amend one part of the last meme...

  • Dec. 23rd, 2009 at 10:21 AM
20. What was your favorite film of this year?
- Madagascar 2, Bolt

AVATAR

This was by far the most breathtaking, touching and beautiful movie of the whole year and for a long time! We watched it in 3D this week - I absolutely loved it, it also made me cry. I would die for watching it in a 3D IMAX again. =)

I don't want to spoil - just go and see that movie! <3

Christmas is Almost Here!

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 10:45 PM
Hey there, everyone!

My mate, Rhumika, and I made a little Christmas video while we were spending time together this holiday season. It's not much, however, I thought you guys would enjoy it anyway - and I hope you do!

After 2 and a half hours of interviews and performance tests I got the job.

36 hour weeks, opertunity for 2 hours overtime daily (again depending on performance)
*grin*

That's all.

Potential Problem

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 10:52 AM
ok was looking over the newly uploaded schedule of events for FC 2010 and noticed on saturday. That the FNL rehersal, the masq signup and judging, and the fursuit parade are all really close to each other. Which kinda makes it really hard if someone wanted to possibly do both shows or all 3?. Any chance they can be spread out just a tiny bit more? I do realize masq does have a tiny slot on friday but thats still a lot going on all at once on saturday ;( Anyway just my 2 cents.

Cold Days Hot Nights 2

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 7:11 PM
I was going to write a lengthy, non-twitter-style report on that fursuit outing from two weeks ago, about how cool and full of win it was. I mean, how often do you meet tabloid press reporters who spontaneously interview you for their news paper AND Anonymous during a fursuit outing? Doesn't happen all that often. :)

Then again, I'm tired, so I'll just drop a link to the video here. :)

Oh, and Gandalf the grey was there, too!

Fursuit walks are always fun, but this kind of 9-hour-extreme thing is awesome. I hope there's gonna be a CDHN3 soon. :)

FWA09 - a recap so old it's almost retro

  • Mar. 23rd, 2009 at 11:59 PM
A problem with convention recaps for me is i try to remember too much. I write down notes, and here I'm cross-referencing Twitter posts from back in March. I also have a link to some photos from the time, but it's just messy work putting them all together. So I've taken an old recap, added some photo links from TwitPic and others from Brace, WildBillTX and from FA.

Thu 19 Mar 09
I got up at 6, made some coffee, packed up my clothes bag, and Rolo dropped me off at SFO on the way to work. Started reading "Magician: Apprentice" on the flight, played some Sudoku.
Stopped for a sandwich in Charlotte. Plane got delayed on runway due to some weather, but made it to Atlanta at sunset with a little delay. Eunos picked me up and I checked into the hotel. We dropped stuff off.
Met up with Theome, Mith and met Stage Lion.
Got a couple $4.50 Mai Tais at Trader Vic's
Met up with Frazzy's new Stitch and Ciro, among other cute critters.

Fri 20 Mar 09

Did a short Twilight walkaround at the con. This was the first time I'd fursuited in the state of Georgia.
Showered, got lunch burrito at the Peachtree Mall (and consequently got RickRolled)
Amiri the Lion gave me a balloon.
Suited up, bunny wandered around again!
Got out of suit, helped Tilt with a fursuit mentor panel.
Had $5 Fog Cutter at Trader Vic's, and Lamb Curry for dinner, with Baja, Colson, Aydan,
Siegfried dropped by, having just arrived and saw my Twitter post.
Share photos on twitter with Twitpic
Hung out at the room and Baja made martinis. Next thing I knew Rammstein was down at the Fursuit Dance competition, waiting to dance to Salt & Pepa's "Push It"
Came back, cooled down, went to Banshee's dance set, and danced with Ardan.. and Houser, and others.

Sat 21 Mar 09
Gave Tilt & Kellogg a bunny wakeup call.
Met up with ElectroPaw and brought Champ to life for the fursuit parade! I've always loved that cute party pup and was thankful for the opportunity to animate him. Also managed to confuse Kokoes and Feros, among others.

Got out of suit, cooled down and suited up as CB Roo for a Group photo with Antimon. While we waited, we cuddled on a fur pile. Buziel was very snuggly and kept nosing at a bunnyroo pouch. Media wore Frostbite, and ended up practically living in the suit for most of the con.
Got a shower. Pondered dinner.
Met with Siegfried, Mirko, Wally and Maza, walked about a mile to Mary Mac's Tea Room, a southern hospitality restaurant. Enjoyed some comfort foods and sweet iced tea. The hostess gave us back rubs and showed us how to properly eat Pot Likker, the liquid left behind after boiling greens. Chicken & dumplings, fried green tomatoes. Came back, stuffed, with a case of "the Itis".

Kofu presented me with a cake! My birthday was earlier in the week, and the kitty was so thoughtful he surprised me with a cake he decorated himself. Unfortunately since it had spent a few days in his car unrefrigerated I was afraid to eat it. But I was still touched by the thoughtful kitty.

[ There's stuff I've left out of my notes, since Saturday was mostly a blur. Some of it involved Tilt/Greifer, Ardan, perhaps Kofu and very probably Convoy. Video may or may not exist. ] At some point hung out with Static and Foxglove for a bit before bed. 4:30am?

Sun 22 Mar 09
Woke up, got coffee (thanks Media!) and missing shoes (Thanks Static! - don't recall why I would have left my sneakers behind. I didn't have THAT much to drink, if anything), and had lunch with Theome and Media at Gyro King.

Dropped by the fursuit games in a borrowed suit for a little bit.

As the dealers room closed, kinda just vegetated at the room. Dinner with Baja, Colson and Cooner at Mama Ninfa's. I got the Fajitas Durango - with chicken, onions, peppers, spices... AND BACON.
Share photos on twitter with Twitpic
[ more missing notes. I do recall chatting a bit with PandaGuy about the old days of suiting. He mentioned a project of going through lots of old photos and identifying people and suits. I wonder what happened with that? ]
2:10am and bed after beer & "Groundhog day" with Tilt... I must be getting old!

Mon 23 Mar 09
Packed up, made a round of goodbyes and had some coffee. Spookaboo made a really cute badge for Twilight! Oh, and hung with Four the Bear, who was lamenting that I went to Mary Mac's without him.
Walked with my hockey bag and other luggage to the MARTA station under the Peachtree Center. I bought a paper Breeze ticket, which didn't have a mag stripe to swipe but an RFID chip inside. I felt like an old luddite while a MARTA regular helpfully suggested tapping the ticket on the "breeze" spot.
I felt rather nervous with all my baggage during the trip to the airport, but I made it fine. I checked my fursuit bag, .... [notes ran out. switching to Twitter]
Carolina Pit BBQ pork & Carolina Blonde beer for "second breakfast" in Charlotte.
[Arrived safely at SFO]

Party Room Available

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 3:02 AM
Well, the plans were for a party.
Unfortunately, a close friend died and the only good date for the memorial was Jan 23rd. Yeah, His Lady Wife, an even closer friend, knows that it is Furcon weekend, she did try for any weekend but that, but was unsuccessful in getting the site she wanted.
So with Saturday Night gone, the plans for a party have been ditched.
So this means that a PARTY ROOM is available. Smiling Wolf would love it if you can put an open party in the room. And things are guaranteed to be noisy.
Reservation starts Thursday Jan 21 and runs to Monday Jan 25. The usual, I have the first night deposit that needs reimbursing.
Please help this fan of furries out.
Thanks

FNL

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 9:31 AM
I'm looking for five male fursuiters to take part in my FNL skit for this years FC. The skit is a serious piece (not funny) set like an old western. Premise is that a girl has been taken by a small band of kidnappers and a single bounty hunter has been sent to retrieve her.

Warning: any and all suiters who volunteer for these roles with be shot and killed on stage.

Prince Naveen and his chin dimple

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 7:46 PM
Even the sketches I do for myself these days aren't even my own work. Sheesh.

"Ah, I have seen that you have noticed my chin dimple. It is quite lovely, no? Much like yourself, in fact..."

I blame [info]halcyonjazz for this! This movie is so spectacular and her just as spectacular geek post provided a mountain of references, and imbued in me the desire-NAY. THE NEED to draw Naveen!

Enjoy!

*edit*
By the way, as I was drawing his hair I couldn't help but remember that my hair used to be like that.
LOL-TACULAR. AAGGHH
I could grow it out again and dress like him for Halloween next year.

This movie makes me so happy!
